I eagerly seek out the means to manipulate common language and materials, repurposing the everyday into a language-centric cache of directive drawings and collage, digital cataloging and object alteration. Ordered by wordplay and process-based execution, inherent characteristics are homed in on and reformatted through logical reasoning and a language's infinite subjective potential. Deadpan humor, repetitive scripts, logic games and found resource materials are further conceptual parameters employed in the development of my work, altogether realizing simple interactions playful in familiarity and fresh modes of communication. In my "birth of an idiom" series, I look at some of our most common idioms and speculate what their brainstorming sessions would look like, what parts are solidified and which have yet to be resolved, where are the influences and external connections being pulled/ pooled from, are there any "ah-ha!" moments, and how do they get them to just roll off the tip of ones tongue like that?
